Tammy Carrasco
Tammy (she/her) is a Philadelphia-based dance-artist-educator. She has performed professionally in her own work as well as in for Alexandra Beller, Heidi Brewer, Helen Simoneau, Cara Hagan, Noa Zuk, to name a few. She has performed co-created work with dance artists Robbie Cook, Stevie Oakes, Brandon Whited, and visual artist Kitty Hubbard. Carrasco’s embodied and choreographic practices are most informed by educators Brenda Daniels, Sean Sullivan, Nancy Stark Smith, Bebe Miller, Michelle Boulé, Susan Rethorst, and Susan Van Pelt Petry. She has taught workshops, master classes, and staged choreographic work nationally and internationally. She brings a holistic, equity-centered teaching philosophy that merges formalism in modern dance with somatic approaches to movement. Tammy’s research includes choreography, performance, and scholarship.
